Adriana is passionate about empowering clients to heal and change. Her desires is that they can live their lives to the fullest. She believes that every person is valuable. Therefore treats people with respect, acceptance and compassion. Because of this, her belief is that everyone is capable of change. However, understands that it is hard and takes courage. She is patient and encouraging throughout the counselling process. She respects that each person’s journey takes time.
As well, she honours the uniqueness of each person. Therefore, collaboration with each client happens. This is to develop a plan that will be effective and employ clients’ strengths. This is possible because she uses an integrative approach to counselling. Her theories consist of: Attachment Theory, Emotional Focused Therapy, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Positive Psychology and Mindfulness based practices.
Adriana has personal and professional experience working with third generation cultural kids and individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. As well, she understands that faith and spirituality are important to some clients. So, she is willing and able to address them and incorporate them into the counselling process. This will only happen at the request of the client.
Adriana knows that scheduling counselling can be challenging sometimes. Because of this, she provides daytime and evening appointments. She believes finding the best fit and connection with your counsellor is the biggest piece to healing. In order to ensure that you connect well with her, she offers a free 20-minute consultation in person or over the phone.
She is affirming of all religions, cultures, sexual orientations and gender identities.
Adriana is a Registration Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta psychologists. She is able to provide receipts that can be claimed through one’s employee benefits program.
