Amanda believes that the relationship with the client is the most important element to a successful and beneficial therapy experience. To facilitate this relationship, she shows up to each session with warmth and authenticity, working from a place of compassion, respect, curiosity, and humour. She aims to create a space in which individuals feel comfortable showing up as their authentic self.
She understands that counselling can be intimidating and is committed to listening to her clients in a compassionate non-judgemental manner so that together we can process experiences, build skills and generate solutions. Amanda utilizes a person-centred approach that can include elements from solution focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and emotion focused therapy to help her clients feel empowered to overcome obstacles, develop new strengths and learn skills along the way.
Amanda believes that by exploring our unique lived experiences, we have the ability to pursue a different future and create the change we desire. She aims to collaborate with clients to reach their therapeutic goals and provide support as they work through their healing journey. Amanda is currently a practicum student working toward her Master’s in Counselling Psychology. She understands how difficult it can be to juggle competing demands for your time, so to better accommodate your schedule, she offers daytime, evening and weekend appointments.
She offers a free 20-minutes phone or video consultation, to support you in finding the most suitable fit as you embark on your therapy journey.
