Braelyn brings a calm and compassionate presence into the counselling room. Her intention is to create an environment where clients feel safe to express themselves without judgment or fear. She views the therapeutic relationship as an essential part of the healing journey and strives to develop a trusting relationship with her clients. Braelyn understands how difficult it can be to attend counselling and gently encourages clients throughout the process of change. She approaches every conversation with curiosity to better understand who her client is as a unique person. Braelyn is affirming of all cultures, religions, gender identities and sexual orientations.
Through a person-centred approach, she works together with her clients to ensure they are working towards their goals throughout therapy. She incorporates cognitive-behavioural and mindfulness-based techniques to help clients develop skills that can be applied outside of the counselling room. Braelyn believes in empowering her clients toward change by equipping them with tools and strategies that are tailored to them. To help them find deeper healing she uses Emotion Focused Therapy to help clients find and work through the root of their current difficulty.
If clients want to incorporate matters of faith, Braelyn welcomes the idea of how our faith impacts our current difficulties. If clients do not want to talk about matters of faith, she takes a strictly psychological approach.
She understands that life can get busy and to better accommodate clients’ schedules, she offers both daytime and evening appointment times.
