Michelle explores the unique differences and strengths of each client and adapts her approach to meet each client’s distinctive needs. She utilizes various modalities to support change including Attachment Theory, Trauma-Informed Practice, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Collaborative Problem Solving, and Mindfulness-based practices. She also incorporates play-based approaches and creative and art-based interventions with children and teens.
Michelle is passionate about meeting you where you are at along your journey and joins you as you work towards growth, healing, and change. Michelle values working collaboratively with her clients; therapy is not something done to you – it is done with you. Her authentic and empathic nature, and focus on trust, curiosity, and acceptance, ensures you feel safe, secure, and seen throughout your time together. She strongly believes that strength and resilience lives within each of us. As such, she strives to empower her clients to discover and utilize their strength and resilience as they work towards change and to overcome their challenges and distress. Michelle also recognizes that faith can be an important aspect in a person’s story and upon request will integrate a faith-based approach into counselling.
The relationship between client and therapist is of the utmost importance, so Michelle offers a free 20-minute consultation. This provides the opportunity for you to ask any questions and ensure Michelle is a good fit for you. Consultations are offered over the phone, or online.
