Sadiya recognizes that the path to healing requires compassion and empathy. She strives to create a safe and non-judgemental environment for clients and encourages being curious about mental health and wellbeing. She believes in creating a life worth living through personal growth and liberation, and recognizes that a strong therapeutic relationship is foundational to healing.
Sadiya takes a person-centered and integrative approach to mental health and wellbeing. She conceptualizes mental health through a trauma-informed and biopsychosocial framework, and uses aspects of Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Positive Psychology and Cross-Cultural Psychology in her work. She combines psychoeducation with neurosciences throughout sessions for client to become more aware and informed of their own mental wellbeing.
Sadiya specializes in the following: ADHD, anxiety, interpersonal trauma, faith concepts, grief and loss, cultural awareness, stress, communication, boundaries, and workplace/employment issues. She is comfortable with both in-person as well as virtual appointments.
Sadiya is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
