Angel believes in the inherent goodness of every person and their fundamental need for genuine connection. She guides her clients with compassion, offers them a safe and nurturing space where they can share and process their experiences without fear of judgment. Angel is dedicated to helping her clients gain insight into their experiences and learn skills to manage and understand their emotions. This empowers her clients to embrace their emotional healing, increase their resilience, and establish meaningful connections with others.
Angel’s professional growth is a result of her years of experience working with marginalized communities and trauma survivors, such as those who have experienced childhood trauma, sexual assault, and domestic violence. Angel is grounded in a trauma-informed and attachment-based perspective. She utilizes evidence-based modalities, such as Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy.
Angel is dedicated to meeting clients’ needs through open communication and feedback. She ensures that each client feels valued, heard, and respected by actively encouraging them to share their thoughts and concerns, and by adjusting her approach accordingly.
Outside of therapy, Angel enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, camping, and traveling. She also likes reading, coloring, baking, and diamond painting.
Angel is affirming of all cultures, religions, gender identities, and sexual orientations.
She is a member of the Trans Affirming Network.
Angel offers counselling in English and Tagalog.
Angel is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
