Tawny Hosker
Tawny believes that clients are best supported through the security of the therapeutic relationship. To build the counsellor-client alliance she focuses on being compassionate, genuine and accepting throughout the counselling process. Tawny works alongside clients to explore their experiences, develop insight, recognize resiliency and empower the client onwards. She provides clients with tools and strategies to navigate the difficult terrain and encourage hope.
Tawny’s approach to counselling is rooted in humanistic psychology, which focuses on the client and their unique perspective. She combines different therapeutic approaches and interventions to fit the needs of the client. Her therapeutic approach includes Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused-Therapy, DBT, CBT and ACT. Tawny is passionate about incorporating psychoeducation, mindfulness practices and self-compassion exercises into her counselling work.
Understanding that reaching out for help can be difficult, Tawny offers a free 20-minute phone or video consultation, providing the opportunity for you to ask questions, discuss concerns, and explore whether she is a good fit for you.
