Covid-19 Fee Update
Since Covid-19 has hit Alberta finances have become a major source of anxiety. We do not want to let finances stand in the way of you receiving counselling. We have reduced our sliding scale fees even lower than normal to help out with the crisis. If finances are difficult for you right now, please do not hesitate to reach out and email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more information about the reduced sliding scale fees.
We understand that counselling can be expensive. We do not want that to be a barrier to you getting support. For those that need it, sliding scale is provided. This means that you can access counselling at a lower rate to make it more affordable for you. Sliding scale rates can be anywhere from $100-$175/session. All of our Calgary Psychologists offer sliding scale.
For those that can afford counselling we follow the guidelines that are set out by the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. The recommended fee is $200 per 50 minutes. You can find information about fees for Psychologists on the PAA’s website
Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in full or in part. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.
We recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
- Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
- Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?
- Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
We direct bill with Blue Cross and are adding more insurance companies to our direct billing list daily.
Psychologists’ fees are tax deductible and can be submitted with your income taxes.
We accept all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa & American Express) as well as cash and email money transfers.
We kindly ask that you please provide your Psychologist with 48 hours notice when cancelling an appointment.
